Priscilla Monroy, a behavioral therapist and former participant in 'Big Brother Brazil' (BBB) season 26, has officially ended her four-year relationship with Alberto Cowboy. In a social media statement released on Friday, Monroy emphasized that the primary focus of the separation is safeguarding their five-year-old daughter amidst the emotional transition.
Priscilla Monroy, a behavioral therapist and former contestant on 'Big Brother Brazil' (BBB) season 26, officially announced the end of her relationship with Alberto Cowboy on Friday. The couple, who had been together for approximately four years, resided in Florida, United States.
Monroy detailed the separation in a message posted to social media platforms early Friday morning. She described a period of extensive reflection regarding the future of their union and the emotional complexities involved, particularly concerning their five-year-old daughter.
"After much reflection, I decided to share with you that Alberto and I are no longer together," Monroy wrote. "It is not easy to close a chapter in which I invested so much love, dreams, and expectations."
Monroy acknowledged her efforts to sustain the relationship, noting that she had repeatedly chosen forgiveness and reconciliation. However, she stated that she eventually recognized the necessity of preserving her own values.
"From my side, there was a great desire to make it work," Monroy said. "I believed, understood, forgave, and restarted as many times as I thought necessary, because I have never been one to easily give up on someone I love, much less the family I dreamed of building."
She added that time taught her that loving someone does not require sacrificing oneself or one's core principles.
The therapist addressed how the separation would impact their child, emphasizing that a young child understands love through presence and routine rather than explanations. She noted that while the bond between the child and Cowboy remains strong, the absence of his daily presence presents an adaptation challenge.
"For a child, love is not made of promises or explanations," Monroy explained. "It is made of presence, routine, hugs, shared moments, and people who become part of their small world. And when this reality changes, it is not just a relationship that ends. It is also a child who needs to understand, in their own way, the absence of someone they learned to care for so much."
Monroy stated she would not publicly disclose specific reasons for the split, focusing instead on protecting her daughter's well-being and maintaining peace.
Prior to this announcement, Cowboy had discussed his intentions to formalize their union in a television interview following his departure from the reality show. He mentioned that while they were not yet married, they were in the process and making future plans, including potential time spent in Brazil given Monroy's ability to work remotely.
"We are not married yet, we are in the process," Cowboy had said. "Thank God, everything fit very well. Today we make plans. As her profession is there [USA], we have plans to come spend some time [in Brazil]. She is starting a course and will be able to work remotely."
