MOTORISTS are being warned to expect road closures across Worcestershire this weekend as towns and villages come together to mark Remembrance Sunday. A number of parades and services will take place this Sunday (November 8), giving residents the opportunity to remember members of the Armed Forces who have served and lost their lives in wars and other conflicts.

Temporary road closures will be introduced across the county to allow the parades to take place safely. Councillor Dan Boatright-Greene, chairman of the Worcestershire Armed Forces Partnership, said Remembrance Sunday was one of the most important dates in the community calendar.

“It brings us all together to pay tribute to those who served and sacrificed in times of conflict. “I look forward to seeing our veterans, those currently serving and our cadet forces as they parade through my own town, allowing us all to show our gratitude and respect as a community.”
