Qatar Chamber and Malta’s ambassador to Qatar discussed stronger commercial ties and the possibility of a joint business forum during a meeting on September 14.

The chamber’s second vice chairman, Rashid bin Hamad al-Athba, met Ambassador Maria Camilleri Calleja to review economic and trade relations and opportunities for companies in both countries.

Al-Athba said the chamber supported partnerships between Qatari and Maltese businesses across economic sectors. He described bilateral relations as strong and said cooperation between companies could contribute to growth in both economies.

He also highlighted Qatar’s investment incentives and facilities, saying the market welcomed foreign investment and offered measures to improve the business environment.

Calleja said Maltese business owners and companies were interested in Qatar’s investment opportunities and closer cooperation with local counterparts. She raised the possibility of a forum bringing entrepreneurs from both countries together to explore partnerships.

Potential areas for discussion include food, trade, services, pharmaceuticals and innovation, as well as other sectors of mutual interest.
