Text size:

ADELAIDE, AU / ACCESS Newswire / September 7, 2026 / Barton Gold Holdings Limited (ASX:BGD)(FRA:BGD3)(OTC PINK:BGDFF) (Barton or Company) is pleased to announce the approval of its environmental Scoping Report for its South Australian Tunkillia Gold Project (Tunkillia).

Barton has been working with the Government of South Australia, through the DEM, to identify key stakeholder interests, social and environmental risks, and other important considerations for the development of Tunkillia. The environmental Scoping Report establishes and generally defines the environmental studies and modelling, community engagement, and other key programs that must be completed to obtain development approvals.

By agreeing this scope at an early stage, development proponents are able to more confidently execute well-defined programs while reducing costs and uncertainty, therefore enabling expedited approvals processes.

The Government's approval of Tunkillia's environmental Scoping Report is therefore a key first step in its ML and development approvals processes, and now serves as the official terms of reference for future approvals. The several programs contemplated therein are already underway, as Barton targets expedited development.

A copy of Tunkillia's approved environmental Scoping Report can be found on DEM's website here.

Commenting on approval of the environmental Scoping Report, Barton MD Alexander Scanlon said:

"Tunkillia's May 2025 Optimised Scoping Study has confirmed a large-scale, competitive gold and silver operation with significant economies of scale offering strong financial and capital leverage to rapidly evolving gold and silver markets. Given its exceptional financial profile, we are advancing Tunkillia toward development as quickly as possible.

"We have recently completed nearly 58,000m of Resource upgrade drilling at Tunkillia, with positive results in some zones offering material upside potential. We look forward to sharing final assays and Resource updates in due course. Our objective is to then publish our PFS during Q1 CY27, and submit our Mining Lease application shortly thereafter.

"We look forward to working with our Native Title partners and the regional communities in which we live and work to develop this important regional project. We also thank the South Australian Government for a collaborative and constructive approach to expediting future processes, and ERIAS for their assistance in preparing the Scoping Report."
